Due to the there being bundles of wood tied together and the VHS tape of an assembly video being sealed, along with the stone mix being sealed, we feel this item set is new and unused, but with the box being opened. The wood seems to be in excellent condition. Comes with an assembly instructions booklet. Box does show signs of wear, such as dents, scrapes, and scratches.
