This 1 inch scale, unfinished kit is similar to the retired Newport but there have been some improvements made to make the New Haven dollhouse kit even better. The window/door on the first floor have been reversed. The Victorian Oval Light Door gives it a new updated look. All windows now include interior trim and the detailed staircase has been moved to the center of the house. Many dividers are included so you can create up to 13 rooms. Plus, check out the bathroom on the third floor. Can you envision an en suite? In addition, this kit features a mansard roof, which maximizes the living and decorating space on the third floor. The 3/8 clapboard profile is milled into the surface of the medium density fiberboard (MDF) exterior walls. Having the clapboard siding already milled into the exterior walls makes your assembly easier, because the siding is built-in and ready to paint. MDF, like plywood, is made from wood and glue, but MDF (not particleboard) is processed and super compressed with intense heat to eliminate the grain defects found in ordinary wood products. Many top quality furniture manufacturers use MDF and it has become their material of choice. The fiberboard we use in the production of many of our dollhouses is hand chosen because of its outstanding rank among the fiberboards manufactured today. MDF stays flat, is smooth and splinter free... Thus it is very easy to paint. Our design team and assembly department prefer MDF for these reasons. If you open the dollhouse kit, we can not accept a return. A return is not necessary for missing or damaged parts.
